I designed this pattern while riding cross country (well, from one corner of Texas to the other) for my grandmother’s 100 birthday party. In all, it was a 17-hour drive and I found that I had not brought a proper project on our RV trip.
I had an idea and started to jot down the stitches I was making. At the point that I needed waste yarn to place some live stitches on, I discovered that corded earbuds do the trick. This was 2014 and earbuds were still wired. I needed a few more stitch holders and made do with some straws and a few toothpicks.
In the end, the process was a jumbled mess, but the results were stunning! This pattern is still my most popular and was featured on the front page of Ravelry and gained some traction in my Texas store.
